Hi, I’m Zee!

Welcome to Lantern & Rune ✨
I created this space for people navigating the real, often invisible systems that shape work, health, and stability — disability benefits, Medicaid, medical leave, worker protections, and the space where all of those overlap.

After my own medical journey, I learned firsthand how overwhelming these systems can be — not just because they’re complex, but because they’re rarely designed to center the person moving through them. I’ve seen how easily people fall through the cracks when they don’t have clear information, advocacy, or the time and energy to figure things out while already under stress.

Before founding Lantern & Rune, I worked in benefits and HR, supporting employees through leave, accommodations, and complex benefits decisions. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how these systems are structured — and where they often fall short for the people relying on them.

Combined with lived experience navigating illness, disability, and public benefits, my work now focuses on bridging the gap between policy and real life.

My mission is to help people understand and actually use the systems meant to support them — so decisions around disability, medical leave, healthcare coverage, and workplace protections are informed, not reactive.

This includes navigating programs like SSDI and Medicaid, understanding leave laws and benefits, and making sense of the rules that govern work, income, and care.

At its core, Lantern & Rune is about equity in practice — not theory.
It’s about making sure people understand the systems that affect their lives, and aren’t left to navigate them alone.
